I'm starting up a collection of my favourite names and surnames, an ideal collection for anyone really because they're one of the things in this world that you don't have to pay for. I have no names for 'Q' or 'U' and for some reason most of the names I've collected so far start with 'A':
Adelaide
Agatha
Agnete
Aaren
Agnes
Abbott
Abe
Abigail/Avigayil
Adair
Agnete
Aiden/Aden
Ames
Aimee
Ainslie
Alphonse
Alva
Ana
Andersen
Andres
Anete
Ann
Annis
Ari
Arkley
Astrid
Aubrey
Augustine
Aurelie
Aurore
Ayres
Anais
Attiicus
Lithops / Living stones are high on my plant list especially since Melbourne (and most of Australia) are on water restrictions. A native of South Africa these plants need little to no water to survive especially during the summer months. They also make fascinating little house plants to boot.
A beautiful sort of Sophia Kokosalaki-esque collection by Toga

but Elly, what about Atticus! your list is great. what is the food in this photo??
rectified right away sir! i can't believe i forgot atticus... blasphemous!
the food in the photo is tapioca pearls that were boiled in chinese tea with pear halves. mum had a huge toothache so i cooked it up. :}
I wonder why so many A names are so pretty? I think Annis is my fave...it sounds delicate (if that makes sense?!)
oh thank god. i nearly thought they were fish eggs! your mum is lucky, that sounds so good. mm mm. :)
You've made a good list! I like those "old" names a lot. My daughters name is Agnes.
Kate, Annis is definitely one of my 'A' favourites too (and I totally understand what you mean about it being delicate)!
And so is Agnes, Karin. ;}
I'm a big fan of old names too (most of the names on the list are mostly old European names). But it's early days yet on the list so this could change!
Great list of names! my boyfriend and I are thinking of names for children...girl: Soledad, Soli for short, for a boy: Vahe or Ander or Viegh...or Jack.
no way.. you guys are still on water restrictions there? (seems like you have been forever)
and... atticus is one of my favorite names too, :)
i used to make lists all the time before our son was born... and i still do. i always wondered if it was a strange obsession or just a fascination. i think the last one (hehe)
My favourite name right now is Annie (named after the delightful Annie Hall, of course). And if I ever get a kitten, I'm going to name it Alvy (after Alvy Singer...from Annie Hall). It's my favourite movie of all time, you see.
Jenny, I think most Aussies are on water restrictions... and I don't see it them ending unfortunately. :/
Hehe I'd say it was a fascination too, aint nothin' wrong embracing your inner onomast!
Vic, ah Alvy is a great name. Annie hall is a favourite of mine too so now i totally feel ashamed that I forgot to put Alvy AND Atticus on the list. Eep.
